THE MIND BENDER
The Anse-de-Tabatière trails are located in le Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay in the L’Anse-Saint-Jean region. These trails offer an unparalleled view of the area, which some consider to be the most spectacular and stunning in the region. This panoramic perspective provides a truly mind-bending view of the fjord from east to west. Use your car and then take a quick fifteen-minute walk on a trail that leads to a peaceful spot where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets! Les sentiers Eucher in the Ville de La Baie offer an unobstructed view of the fjord. Located about 30 minutes from downtown Chicoutimi, you can access the trails by car or using public transport via the Ville Saguenay tourist route. Its 4.5 km intermediate hiking trails border the fjord. Overflowing with history, you will discover the barker’s vestiges, a bark incinerator and the Centennial Cross that was erected in 1938.
If you’re looking for a superb view of the fjord, Les sentiers de la Plateforme, located in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord is the perfect place for you! First, make your way down to the dock for some delicious snack food, excellent coffee and their legendary maple ice cream. You can enjoy the stunning view on one of their many terraces while eating your tasty meal. Then, just a few minutes from the dock, on rue de la Montagne, take the beginner level trail to access the platform. It’s a showstopper at the top; we guarantee it!
THE FAMILY PLEASER
If you’re headed to Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, why not make a quick stop at La Vieille Ferme? They are known for their warm welcome, delightful location and their proximity to the majestic Saguenay fjord. Hop on the Le Fjord trail (6 km round trip, also bike-friendly), and you will experience the Saguenay fjord in an entirely unique way. Here, a long glorious beach awaits you. From there, keep going and in 5 minutes you will arrive at the Halte du Béluga. Who knows, you might just come face-to-face with one of these marine mammals in the heart of their famous nursery colony!
Easily accessible by car, the quai de Petit-Saguenay remains a must-see if you want to admire the fjord in all of its splendour. At any time of the day, it’s easy to get there.
