Along the way to Charlevoix and the Côte-Nord, overflowing with beauty from the Saguenay Fjord that meanders throughout the region, Bas-Saguenay is a perfect outdoor playground for nature enthusiasts.

To maximize this unique tourist potential, five villages in Bas-Saguenay have joined forces: Ferland-et-Boilleau, L’Anse-Saint-Jean, Rivière-Éternité, Petit-Saguenay and Saint-Félix-d’Otis. Plans are already underway to further improve organizing activities and promoting attractions.

Thus on June 2015, the Bas-Saguenay tourism industry travelled to L’Anse-Saint-Jean to celebrate the joint launch of the summer tourist season. Each village that belongs to this new amalgamation can now offer even more to the visitors during the summer months.

The best that Grand Lac Ha! Ha! in Ferland-et-Boilleau has to offer

The village of Ferland-et-Boilleau was established by horse and buggy between Saguenay and Charlevoix, in a sector with steep mountains and enclosed lakes. Grand Lac Ha! Ha! is a truly spectacular attraction and can be observed starting from the paths in Parc de la Digue or from the campsites at Camping Camp d’Accueil, which was recently renovated by the municipality.

In search of heritage in L’Anse-Saint-Jean

This year, L’Anse-Saint-Jean will be inaugurating an all new heritage trail. It will begin at the Saint-Jean-Baptist church, celebrating its 125 years of existence. The trail continues along to the presbytery, the old cemetery and to the famous covered bridge along rue Fabourg. Visitors can now use the new tourist shuttle service and the electric bikes available at the municipal wharf.

The Fjord from a different perspective in Rivière-Éternité

Parc National du Fjord-du-Saguenay now offers a new gravity defying activity. Via Ferrata, an athletic route that combines hiking and climbing, which was installed last summer and offers exceptional panoramic vistas of Baie Éternité and the Saguenay Fjord.

The perfect family vacation in Petit-Saguenay

This year, Village-Vacances Petit-Saguenay is getting a makeover by completely renovating the main lodge. Perfect for families with fun and entertaining live presentations. Hikers can explore one of the 3 newly added interpretive trails that grant access to the paths along Salmon River or the banks of the fjord.

L’Anse-à-la-Croix was visited for almost 5000 years by aboriginals. This story is told by a new archaeological trail that grants access to spectacular views of the Saguenay Fjord and unveils interesting historical facts about the region. To better accommodate their visitors, Site de la Nouvelle-France will be updated and many buildings renovated.
